Do you qualify

After you apply

Payments

Payments are issued monthly. For 2026, the standard payment day is the third Thursday of each month. If you have opted for direct deposit, funds will be available in your account on that day. For those receiving paper cheques, please be aware of potential delays during any Canada Post service disruptions.

Disruption of Canada Post services

In the event of a labour disruption at Canada Post, mail correspondence and cheque deliveries may be impacted. The government encourages all recipients to sign up for Direct Deposit via the CRA or Service Canada portals to ensure uninterrupted receipt of the Canada Disability Benefit.
